Membership Information

Membership is currently closed as of 7/19/09 and future applications will be processed in the order they are received by the executive committee, as new member slots become available in the future.

To become a member of Town & Country Gun Club you must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete the membership application.
    • The membership application can be obtained at a general membership meeting or electronically here:
  • Have proof of completing a Hunter Safety Education course (or equivalent).
    • Illinois DNR Hunter Education classes listed by county can be found here.
  • You must be sponsored by a current member of the club.
    • If you don't know a current member of the club that will sponsor you, you can talk to current members about a possible sponsorship at the range on the weekends. The range gates are usually open on the weekends while range officers are on duty.
  • Illinois residents must have a valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card.
  • Applicants must present a state-issued drivers license or identification card when submitting their application for consideration to the club.
  • Membership application must be presented to the executive board during either a general membership meeting or an executive board meeting.
    • Applicant must present valid identification, proof of Hunter Safety Education or equivalent, FOID card (IL residents only), and NRA membership card (NRA members only) at this time.

Applicants will be notified by the board as to when their application will be considered during a general membership meeting. The applicant is expected to attend the general membership meeting at which their application is to be considered. If the applicant is not present when their application is up for consideration they will not be considered for membership and their application will be void.

An initiation fee of $50.00 and club dues are collected at the time an applicant is accepted as a new member. Club dues are $50.00 for current NRA members, $85.00 otherwise. The club encourages all members to join the NRA.
